Used for stringing a Japanese bow (yumi).
Material: Beech (Buna)
Surface: Beeswax wax finish (sunflower oil). Will be waxed again before shipping.

Handmade by a husband who worked in a furniture factory for 15 years, at the request of his wife, who is a 5th dan Kyudo practitioner. Multiple were made, so this one is being listed. As his wife wanted to fix it higher than her height, screw holes have been pre-drilled in the four corners.
The trapezoidal groove is hand-finished with a chisel (nomi). This shape cannot be carved by machine.
Screws are included, but installation and fixing are at your own risk.
This item has a proven track record of multiple purchases during the establishment of a new Kyudo dojo in Kitakyushu in Reiwa 6 (2024).
