Fukuro obi, Hakata-ori* Sho is Ise-gata preference
Good luck pattern Sen-nari Hyotan Fukuro Obi
A collaboration obi from Kobo Ta Hakataori,
who create kimono and obi dyed with Ise-katagami.
I purchased this obi to match an Ise-gata
komon kimono.
The hyotan (gourd) pattern is an auspicious
design incorporated into kimono and obi designs,
famous as Toyotomi Hideyoshi's horse emblem.
Six gourds symbolize mu-byo so-sai (no illness,
good health).
Since ancient times, it has been considered
an amulet for warding off disaster and
inviting good fortune, and for protection
against evil.
Can be used in spring, autumn, and year-round.
This fukuro obi is a masterpiece that can be
widely used, from komon to tomesode.
It is reversible.
