This item has been tested for power generation using only solar energy for this listing. It can be charged by turning the manual handle, and it also operates with dry batteries. Solar charging takes a while to build up, but it has been increasing daily and is now fully charged. It would be a reassuring item to have for disaster preparedness.

In addition to radio reception, it is equipped with an LED light and can emit an SOS warning sound (with flashing LED light) at the press of a button.
FM/AM reception has been confirmed, but it depends on radio wave conditions.
When the battery is low, the display screen may flicker.
The manual charging mechanism responds, but it is unclear if it is actually charging, and it would be an endless task, so I have given up on it.
Battery operation has not been tested.
