This is [Tama-no-ura], said to be a sudden mutation of the Yabu camellia native to the Goto Islands.
It blooms every year in clusters.
When my children and I were studying tea ceremony, we wanted a Wabisuke camellia with red and white flowers for tea ceremony arrangements. We asked nursery owners and visited plant markets, but we couldn't find one.
We learned about a large plant market in Kyushu and went with our family.

At that time, we bought a white camellia for tea ceremony arrangements whose name we didn't know, and a red [Tama-no-ura] camellia.
It has been 38 years since planting!

You can also grow them from cuttings.
