Monilaria 15 Seeds Cultivation Set with Potting Soil and Cultivation Instructions

Our shop has been cultivating and self-collecting Monilaria seeds for over 20 years.
Monilaria Moniliforme, white flower, 2025 self-collected seeds, 15 seeds, from Mesa Garden.
Included items: Potting soil (with slow-release fertilizer), top dressing, Prestella 75 pot, sub-irrigation tray, 15 seeds (with desiccant), seeds stored in the vegetable crisper.
These seeds require a warm, sunny outdoor environment. Indoor cultivation is possible as a way to avoid cold during a few hours of sunlight in mid-winter. Seedlings grow in warm winters, so they are weak against cold. Sowing is best done when the average daily temperature can be maintained around 20°C. Indoor management is difficult.
For instructions on potting soil, please watch the video at http://nikutamaya.com/sow.
Important: When sowing, be sure to spray with a fungicide such as Benlate mixed with a spreading agent. This will reduce rot and greatly increase the success rate.
Sowing should be done from late summer to mid-autumn, and germination will occur if the average daily temperature is above 19°C. For the sub-irrigation water level, set it to the point where the fine-grained red clay soil of the top dressing is just barely glistening when viewed against the light.
Autumn sowing is recommended, but for late summer sowing, sow in a well-ventilated, sufficiently sunny environment protected from rain. Reduce light with 50% shade cloth and grow seedlings under the shade cloth with sub-irrigation until around October.
Once germination is established, lower the sub-irrigation water level until the surface becomes a moist mat. Gradually lower the water level as the seedlings grow larger. Remove the shade cloth and provide plenty of sunlight. As they are weak to winter cold, ensure temperatures do not drop below freezing outdoors. Our farm is in the Seto Inland Sea. We have never used heating in our frame cultivation, but for emergency measures, bringing them indoors is probably the best option.
Since the pots are small, repot them into 3-inch pots in March. Grow them until April, and they will begin to go dormant from mid-April. From around May, reduce light with 50% shade cloth. At the same time, the leaves will start to wither due to dormancy. To prevent the spherical part of the new shoots from drying out, water only about once a week under the shade cloth, and gradually increase watering from late summer. September marks the growing season, so support their growth with liquid fertilizer.
