Naturally Grown Mucuna Beans and Misao Soybeans Set

Set includes 20 Mucuna beans and 15 Misao soybeans, cultivated naturally.

● Mucuna Beans
A vining legume native to India. Its key characteristic is its high L-DOPA content, a precursor to dopamine. In Japan, it's known as Hassho-mame and was cultivated in warmer regions of western Japan until around the Edo period.

Sowing: Mid-April to late May (after the minimum temperature reaches 10°C and there is no risk of frost)
Harvest: Late October to November (just before the first frost, when the pods are dry and brown)

It is said to be good for improving poor soil.

● Misao Soybeans
30 seeds of a Kumamoto heirloom variety, grown without pesticides or fertilizers.
Lighter is not included for size reference.
This is a late-maturing variety. In Kumamoto, I sow them in early to mid-July, but sowing after July 20th is said to make them less susceptible to insects. Rain is needed during flowering, so please time your sowing accordingly.

What are Misao Soybeans... (Quoted from Aso no Shokutaku)
This is a legendary local soybean discovered by Misao Inoue of Takamori Town. It is characterized by its small, flattened shape. It is also superior in nutritional value, with approximately 1.5 times the amount of Vitamin E, soy saponins, and soy isoflavones compared to Fukuyutaka. It is also renowned for its rich flavor and chestnut-like sweetness.
