It is highly effective for the egg-laying of Golden Hercules Stag Beetles, Lucanus titanus, and Lucanus elaphus.
Because it is sterilized, unlike regular egg-laying logs, the wood will not mold, making it easy for beginners to use.
No soaking is required.
Through years of experimentation, we have commercialized sterilized Kawara wood that is highly effective for the egg-laying of Lucanus titanus, Lucanus elaphus, and Golden Hercules Stag Beetles, which were traditionally considered very difficult to breed.
It is now an indispensable item for breeding Lucanus titanus, Lucanus elaphus, and Golden Hercules Stag Beetles.
It is compatible with various types of stag beetles and egg-laying setups.
The manufacturing process involves high-pressure sterilization, so there are absolutely no residual insects.
While some species that do not lay eggs in regular logs will lay eggs in sterilized Kawara wood, and you can obtain an unbelievable number of larvae, it has become the ultimate item for stag beetle breeding.
The number of eggs laid by Japanese rhinoceros beetles and stag beetles also increases dramatically compared to regular egg-laying logs.
To set up, simply peel off the bark and bury it in the substrate.
We also sell high-quality fermented substrate for burying the logs, so we can combine shipping if you wish.
[Kawara Wood Storage Method]
Kawara wood is essentially a form of mushroom substrate.
Therefore, please consider the storage method and expiration date to be the same as for mushroom substrate. If stored at room temperature (especially high temperatures), it will gradually decay and soften, deteriorating over time. For long-term storage, it is best to keep it in a cool, dark place at 3°C to 5°C.
