Germany 1970s Peill & Putzler Vintage Hand-Blown Murano Glass

This is a vintage pendant lamp from the 1970s, made by Peill & Putzler in Germany, featuring Murano opal glass.
*Unused and stored after an overhaul in 2021.

This single-light fixture is characterized by its organic form crafted from thick, hand-blown glass and the soft light that filters through the white opal layer. The color scheme, with black nuances layered on the edges of the clear glass, evokes the atmosphere of the era transitioning from Space Age to Postmodern.

The shade is hand-blown by skilled Murano glass artisans. Its smoothly rising curves and gently flaring silhouette at the base are beautiful, and when lit, the light diffuses as if seeping within the milky white glass. It is a sculptural lighting piece that displays different expressions day and night.

The socket cover is made of matte black metal. It uses an E27 base, making it highly practical and beautifully blending into various spaces such as living rooms, dining rooms, entryways, atriums, and counter areas.
