This is a glass plate cut to fit the diamond whetstones I am selling.
Please apply double-sided tape or similar to the entire surface of your diamond whetstone and attach the glass plate for use.
We use glass with sufficient thickness to prevent bending during use.
When replacing the whetstone, you can easily remove it by warming it with a hairdryer and inserting a scraper or similar tool between them.

Because it is float glass, it has extremely high flatness accuracy, making it ideal not only for regular sharpening but also as a base for flattening stones.
It is also very useful for correcting the fit of chisels and planes, or when the back of a blade is damaged.
Furthermore, even when your diamond whetstone reaches the end of its life, the glass plate can be reused, making it economical.

*To keep prices down, the edges of the glass will only be chamfered, not polished.
We can also send it as-is (cut edges), so please let us know if you prefer to process the cut surfaces yourself.
