This is a listing for a Daiwa Amorphous Whisker Phantom Dry Fly & Nymph Stream Backpacking Rod, including its case. It is an 8-foot, #4-5, 5-piece rod designed for dry fly and nymph fishing. For dry flies, a DT4 line is recommended, and for nymphs and wet flies, a DT4 or WF5 line would be optimal. This rod is suitable not only for small streams but also for larger rivers and mid-stream fishing. The action is medium to medium-slow, with a powerful torque that bends around the stripping guide. I use the same rod myself, and this one was only tested once and then stored. It is in beautiful condition, but there are minor point scratches and line scratches on the last two photos. I don't believe they affect performance, but please refrain from bidding if you are concerned. This was during Daiwa's golden age when they were still heavily invested in lures and flies. They created this 5-piece rod, spending time and money to achieve an action that couldn't be replicated with 2 or 3-piece rods. It is a rod on a different level from current pack rods, which prioritize lightness and portability and are merely shorter.
