Okinawan Sanshin - Chinen Daiku Style - Yushi Wood - Sun Chi Coating
Unknown Maker (Late Showa to Early Heisei period?)
Model: Chinen Daiku Type
Neck: Yushi Wood Core (Yushinoki), Sunchi (Colorless Transparent) Finish
Tuning Pegs: Shuri Moody (Kuroki, Lact)
Body: Standard Type Chiiga, Single Genuine Skin Head (Tuned for mid-low tones, approximately 6-7 bu)
The headstock and the rounded chest are not exaggerated, in the legitimate Chinen Daiku style. This is a finely crafted, slender, well-proportioned, and elegant piece. The neck, made exclusively from the core of genuine high-quality Yushi wood (Yushinoki), is something rarely seen in new instruments today.
The sound resonates beautifully and sustains well. It has a rich, calm tone that would be well-suited for songs in the 3-sage tuning or Nage-uta (sad songs). Please also feel free to use it for other folk songs and classical pieces.
