When ordering custom engraved precious stones in Japan, the carving fee for one character is approximately ¥10,000. The tiger's eye stone itself costs an additional ¥2,000. If ordered conventionally, the total cost for the stone and engraving would be over ¥12,000. Our shop has over 400 types of tiger's eye oval seals with one character in stock. All are hand-carved by skilled seal engravers. We are offering them on Mercari at the special price of ¥3,800.
By attaching a cord, it can be used as a strap. If you attach a necklace cord, it can be worn around the neck as a personal health charm. We can attach either type of cord upon request.
This seal is a product developed by our shop. Each stone is polished and crafted individually, so the size and shape may vary slightly. The seal engraving is an artistic work created by a skilled engraver who first hand-writes the character before carefully carving it. (Currently, most commercially available round seals are machine-engraved, resulting in almost identical seal surfaces when the same character is carved on stones of the same diameter.)
The seal script font used for these seals is from the Qin Dynasty of China, approximately 2,300 years ago, and is considered the most beautiful font. Since seal engravings are works of art, techniques such as tapping are used in addition to carving to create the seal surface. The jagged edges and subtle imperfections of the characters and borders are part of the design and are not considered defects. Please purchase with an understanding of the history and traditional techniques of seal engraving.
