☆ This is a kimono made from Oshima Tsumugi, a traditional silk fabric.
Oshima Tsumugi is a high-quality woven fabric mainly produced in Amami Oshima, Kagoshima Prefecture, and is said to be one of the world's three major woven fabrics.
It is characterized by its extremely lightweight and supple texture.

Main features of Oshima Tsumugi
Material and Texture: Made of pure silk, the fabric is very soft and resistant to wrinkles.
Unique Dyeing: Techniques such as Doro-zome (mud dyeing), which involves soaking in mud water, and Ori-shime (woven resist dyeing) using indigo, create sophisticated and subdued colors.
Intricate Patterns: The floral and geometric patterns seen in the kimono in the photo are woven by combining Kasuri threads one by one.
Tailoring: This is an Awase (lined) kimono with a red Happake (lining) and can be worn mainly during the cooler months from October to May.
